Update 10:30 AM: I just returned from the meeting. Have a few great quotes to share later, but must sleep now. For now, know that HART has passed its own resolution to see this matter forward and everyone is extremely confident and grateful for a job well done! Whiting Street, where HART is concerned, is a go!
Today HART and the Tampa Historic Streetcar boards will get together at 9:00 a.m. Details are here. Of major issue will obviously be the reprogramming of funds originally slated for an Ybor streetcar museum, and a nod of support by the THS for reprogramming $900,000 of CMAQ monies for HART's BRT project.
Rich Snopes at the Tribune is providing more details on the actual streetcar service cutbacks (seems they won't actually amount to entire days without service, but will mean less operating cars - those 20 minute service intervals on most weekdays, in short - but that aint' so bad). The Whiting Street extension is nearly a sure thing now, at long last.
I will be zapping live pictures from the meeting to my Tampa Rail Flickr account set. You can visit occassionally this morning and see them, or watch for them at the Flickr badge in the left sidebar.
TBARTA Funding
On a slightly unrelated topic, has anyone been following the news about a possible major funding source for TBARTA? Here's some links to catch you up on it.
