Mentioned in this hit list of projects that didn't get funded this year is something called a "monorail energy research interactive" at MOSI. If I'm not mistaken, this would be the same monorail system plan announced in 2006.

If the same project, or some reminant of it, the monorail would have operated in around the immediate MOSI facility, and perhaps connected up with some of the major institutions in the immediate area such as the USF campus. No-one seems particularly surprised that the project didn't get funded given all the budget issues of late, but it's a shame nonetheless. It would have a been a wonderful new locally operating example of fixed guide rail.

If you want to stay optimistic, do! Only the money isn't coming, the intent may still be there. Chances are someone wil figure out another way to do it.
