It's important that we keep an eye on the success of light rail in cities where their implementation of it is new, and, where the city's size and caliber are comparable to Tampa. Therefore, it should be considered exciting news that Charlotte Mayor Patrick McCrory will be in town on November 2.

He'll be here as part of the 2009 Regional Transportation Forum and will be able to shed light on his city's succcessful implementation of a balanced transit network, which includes starter light rail, and its positive impact on Charlotte's economy.
