She introduces herself to the Hillsborough County Town Hall Meeting participants as Jackie Well. She is a concerned citizen of Temple Terrace and she carries this message: Hartline is directly responsible for the decline in public safety, morality, and "town values". She would personally like Hartline removed from the community.
Oh, but don't worry, she assures the audience that she isn't the only one who feels this way.
Take a look at the unbelievable assertion made by this woman. In the cool urbanized tone of a high-functioning princess, Jackie Well appears to be suggesting that something about the existence of Hartline is directly responsible for some sort of perceived urban decay occurring in Temple Terrace. You know: Temple Terrace, the crime smut-ridden mecca of Hillsborough County.
Say WHAT lady!?
What that something about Hartline may be is a little abstract and perhaps too potent to speculate about here. However, the African American sitting to the left in the frame seems to be formulating a theory or two as the woman speaks. Re-play the video and notice his reaction throughout. I like to think it sums up everyone's reaction, but does it?
Folks, this is why we fight. This is the living breathing anti-transit mentality at work. And now it's becoming so prevelant that apparently we're starting to see faces unashamed to bastardsize the role and purpose of public mobility services right in front of TV cameras. Right before our very eyes.
If you watch the entire event via some sort of rebroadcast you'll notice that members of the attending commission attempt to draw the woman back to the microphone to better explain herself. They're as confused as the rest of us (and I'm only assuming that. After all, don't forget that Ronda Storms and Brian Blair were there - maybe these two "catch her drift"). But Jackie Well skitters away from the spotlight as fast as she can, apparently satisfied that she made her point clear enough.
Kim Leinbach, Temple Terrace City Manager, then approaches the mic and, although you'd expect him to be screaming "WHAT THE HELL WAS YOUR POINT?", he actually attempts to put a mask of reason on the event by explaining some rudimentary details about how or why Hartline exists in Temple Terrace. Something about milleage. Yeah, like let's all pretend THAT didn't just happen. Jeezus Christ.
I am a resident of Tampa FL. I have a question and a concern . How can I or we as residents remove idiots like Jackie Well from our city and state! Jesus what a small minded idiot! This may be harsh but idiots like that have no purpose on this earth. Watching this gave me the same face expression as the gentlemen in the back.
I'm striving to find some way to satisfy myself that this incident isn't as bad as it must come across. But I can't come up with any. I pray and hope this woman is merely victim to her own poor communication skills or something, but she seems relatively at peace in making a rather straightforward point. I really don't think we'll find she meant something else or that we're all interpreting this in the wrong way.
Maybe Ms. Well was caught up in her '15 minutes (seconds, actually) of fame.' LOL Either that or she really wanted a chance to exercise her American right of the Freedom of Speech. I must say 'BRAVO' to Bryan above for his comments. I, too, made the same expression as the man in the video, which I enjoyed replaying a few times. Temple Terrace...yes, I remember it well...many a night of ducking free-flying bullets and running from gang members. LOL Soooooo crime ridden it is! What can be done to remove HARTLINE??? Um...like...maybe if all of the residents of Tampa were to move, then Hartline would be out of business. Until and unless that happens, I'm sorry, my dear Ms. Well...I'm sure you *meant* 'well,' but it ain't gonna happen! For God's sake--it's just a BUS SYSTEM! Maybe you forget what it's like for people to get around while you're fuming over the inconvenience of having to pass the bus in your automatic-transmission, air-conditioned luxury car. If you're so miserable, MOVE!
hey dave...i've discovered the mecca of art and sensuality combined in gaming format...Hentai!!! and i've discovered torrent files, too! this is why i ain't clicking the download dohickey just now. i've days to go on one-seeded torrent files! you simply must try playing biko 2 and 3 and rapelay!!! what fun. as for the princess...off with her mofo head!! what's she got against us peasants, anyway?! :P
Peak, I think you mis-took the line about Temple Terrace as serious. It was sarcasm to share the point that Temple Terrace isn't crime-ridden. It was written to add to the commentary against Jackie Well's inane comments.
